Herminia (Rosanna Roces), a pregnant woman with four children, witnesses how her husband is forcibly taken and tortured by henchmen of a land-grabbing politician due to their disputes over land ownership. After being hunted down by the henchmen, they flee their hometown, and she gets separated from his eldest son and only daughter.
