is constantly pushing herself to new heights as she pursues her dreams in the entertainment industry with passion, grit, and dedication.

After captivating audiences in her inspiring role as Doctor Analyn in GMA's hit afternoon prime series, Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap, the Star of the New Gen strives to bring even more joy to her fans. But make no mistake about it. She may appear sweet and reserved — timid, even — but once you get to know her, you’d realize that Jillian Ward is a fighter and a go-getter.

A Star is Born

Jillian Ward developed a love for showbiz from a young age, beginning her journey through auditions for commercials at just three years old. Her energetic and bubbly personality quickly made her stand out in the industry, garnering widespread affection.

With a face like hers, it didn't take long for an offer to join showbiz to fall on Jillian's lap. Call it destiny if you will, but when the casting for the 2010 TV adaptation of Trudis Liit began, Jillian was a shoo-in for the lead role, the very same character that the young Vilma Santos gave life in the 1963 original movie version.

And what made her TV debut all the more promising was that, just like Vilma Santos during her early years in showbiz, Jillian Ward seemed to have all the makings of the next big child star.

At the time, she had no inkling that she would become an actress. She never saw acting as a job. She thought that it was all play, and that the set was her playground. “Ang alam ko lang po noon laro-laro lang po. Gusto ko lang mag taping kasi madaming tao, madaming mga kaibigan ko sa taping and gusto ko po talaga umarte,” Jillan added.

After the successful run of her first TV series, Jillian went on to portray several characters that somehow stuck with the viewers, like the talking doll in Jillian: Namamasko Po (2010), Lelay in Captain Barbell (2011), and Lolita Matias/Daldalita in Daldalita (2011).

“Ipagpatuloy mo lang ginagawa mo and always value your family”

Despite her fame, Jillian Ward holds dear in her heart the true treasures in her life: her family and friends. The young actress deeply cherishes and respects her parents, Elson Penzon and Jennifer Ward-Penzon.

Every day, she appreciates the lessons and affection that her family and friends give her. Jillian's commitment to staying true to herself is evident in her message to her younger self, emphasizing the importance of remaining kind and lovable.

“Mas importante pa rin ang family and ang pagmamahal sa ka-work mo and sa ginagawa mo ’yung fame or power, mas importante ang friendships inside ng taping or yung mga personal relationships mo.”

Star of the New Gen

On September 6, 2023, GMA Network proudly bestowed upon Jillian Ward the new moniker “Star of the New Gen.” This vibrant actress has proven herself worthy of this accolade by embodying the talent and spirit of the new generation. With nearly 15 years in the industry, Jillian has delivered outstanding performances in roles ranging from the kind eldest daughter Donna Marie in Prima Donnas (2019-2022) to the gifted young surgeon Dr. Analyn in Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap (2022-present).

Jillian Ward’s achievements extend beyond her roles on screen; she is also an award-winning actress, boasting honors such as the Daytime TV Drama Actress (Year at the Box Office Entertainment Awards 2024), the German Moreno Youth Achievement Award (71st Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards 2023), and Asia’s Most Remarkable Actress of the Year (7th Asia Pacific Luminare Awards 2023).

In addition to her acting prowess, Jillian is always a big draw on social media, captivating fans with breathtaking photos and engaging videos. Her influence is evident with her 17 million followers on Facebook, 11.7 million followers on TikTok, and 4.3 million followers on Instagram.

Despite these big achievements in showbiz, Jillian Ward still hasn’t quite adjusted to being called the “Star of the New Gen.”

“Gusto ko po maging proud talaga si Mama at Papa sa akin”

“Actually, hindi ko po siya gaano iniisip. Grateful po ko, masaya po ko about it pero parang hindi po siya pumapasok sa ulo ko. Parang hindi ko po siya ma-process. Parang minsan lang po nakakalimutan ko po na artista po pala ako,” she said.

Passionate about her craft, Jillian is eager to explore new heights and take on diverse roles in the industry.

“Ang goal ko, well makagawa ng madaming madami pong roles. Magawa ko lahat ng genres acting. Basta sobrang dami ko po kasing goals. Siguro ipapakita ko na lang po kapag na achieve ko po sa kanila,” she shared enthusiastically.

Outside of showbiz, Jillian Ward is driven by a strong motivation: she wants to make her parents proud. She considers herself an overachiever. Not only is she excelling in her career, she’s also a winner in her Academics. In fact, Jillian graduated from Senior High School with first honors.

Ako po kasi basta kung ano pong binibigay sa akin ni God, binibigay ko po talaga ’yung best ko,” she said.

Jillian simply recognizes the importance of education, that’s why she continues to pursue her academic ambitions. She credits her parents and fellow artists for instilling in her the value of having a backup plan.

“Lagi pong sinasabi ng ’yung sa support system ko po, ’yun sila Mama at Papa, na showbiz po kasi pwedeng hindi po siya forever. Kailangan meron ka pong Plan B and sobrang importante po talaga ’yung education,” she emphasized.

Academics or showbiz career? Jillian believes that she doesn’t have to choose one over the other. She can prioritize her studies and acting career in equal parts. From the looks of it, Jillian has been doing alright.

“I’ll try my best ipag sabay siya (showbiz and studies), I mean nagawa ko po siya for how many years ever since five years old po ako, ever since artista na po ako, pag sasabay ko po siya,” she reflected.

Her First Love

Jillian remains steadfast in her belief that she was destined to be an actress. If circumstances had not led her to acting, she is confident she would still be drawn to either a creative pursuit or a highly skilled profession. Fueled by her dreams and guided by her parents’ teachings, she envisions herself performing on stage, possibly exploring painting, or thriving as a lawyer, doctor, or psychologist.

“Parang ano po artista pa rin so, nagpeperform siguro on stage, pwede rin po ako painter or lawyer. Dream ko rin po maging lawyer or doctor or psychologist. Dami ko pong gustong gawin,” Jillian enthusiastically shared.

“Gusto ko pong gawin lahat kasi gusto ko pong tumanda talaga sa
showbiz. Sabi ko nga po, ang goal ko po, tumanda po ako sa showbiz na one day, ako na po si Lola Goreng (Gloria Romero) ng Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko,” she said, a huge smile forming in her lips.

With how she takes care of her career, deals with her fans, and treats the people that she works with, there is no chance that Jillian Ward will fall by the wayside. This talented, charming, and beautiful woman is a star through and through.
