Top of the list of these phenomenal actors is the matinee idol Rico Yan.
Rico was the poster child of the '90s and has truly established himself as a superstar in the local entertainment scene.
He was paired with Claudine Barretto and their love team was such a huge success that they eventually became household names.
Unfortunately, Rico's career was cut short after the actor died due to acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis on March 29, 2002. He was just 27.
