In December 2018, Kris disclosed that her endorsements may be at risk due to her illness. She said, "It's an unfair world when an 11 year old feels he needs to be the protector & guardian of secrets for his mama... someone no longer in our lives had told bimb that if our endorsements knew the extent of his mama's health worries, she'd lose her contracts."
In January 2019, Kris admitted that she was ailing from a "form of lupus.". The TV host-actress also revealed that she was allergic to medications that are used to manage the illness.
Nicko Falcis released a statement to clear his name. He said, "I would like to emphasize that her allegations against me are false and without basis. The cases she filed against me are but a part of her scheme to coerce me into involuntarily submitting to her will and complying with her unreasonable demands, including that I and members of my family execute the documents she intended for our signatures. In the process, because I have not complied with her demands, she threatened to kill me if I return to the Philippines, destroyed my good name and reputation, and caused me and my family great hardship."
Kris responded to a netizen's comment on Gretchen's post.
Kris mentioned there was a plan to talk for a settlement in January 2018 when she clarified her financial issue concerning the accounting of her investments for her sons worth PhP40 million and financial reports about her 12 Potato Corner + Nacho Bimby branches.
