Alden's career in show business started when he won the Ginoong Santa Rosa in 2009 and the Ginoong Laguna in 2010.
After winning Ginoong Laguna, Alden became part of the internationally-acclaimed film 'The Road,' portraying a psychopath. For this role, Alden was nominated for the New Movie Actor of the Year award at the PMPC Star Awards for Movies and for Breakthrough Performance by an Actor at the Golden Screen Awards.
Alden's biggest break in show business was when he starred in the primetime series One True Love, alongside Louise Delos Reyes. In this series, Alden portrayed Tisoy, a poor guy in love with a rich girl.
In 2014, Alden bagged his first Best Actor award from the 29th PMPC Star Awards for Television for his portrayal of national hero, Jose Rizal, in the GMA Public Affairs miniseries 'Ilustrado.'
Alden honed his hosting skill when he joined the longest-running noontime show in the Philippines, 'Eat Bulaga,' where he hosted a segment called 'That's My Bae.'
While hosting 'Eat Bulaga,' Alden was unintentionally paired with Maine "Yaya Dub" Mendoza, creating the 'AlDub Phenomenon.'
Aside from acting and hosting, Alden is also a successful singer with his sophomore album, 'Wish I May,' which was certified diamond by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry.
Alden also wrote his autobiography titled 'In My Own Words,' which was well-received by fans.
In 2017, Alden starred in 'Alaala: A Martial Law Special' that told the life story of activist Bonifacio Ilagan. The miniseries won a silver medal in the docudrama category at the prestigious New York Festival.
Alden has also conquered the big screen when he starred in 'Hello, Love, Goodbye' opposite Kathryn Bernardo. The movie is currently the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.
