Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas took immediate action after he found that an AI-generated video of himself promoting a certain supplement is circulating online.

He informed his followers on Facebook about this modus and uploaded a screenshot of his fake video.

He wrote in the caption, “I have recently become aware of Al-generated videos using my likeness to promote and sell medicine without my knowledge or consent. I want to make it clear that I have no involvement with these products or promotions. This misuse of my image is unauthorized and misleading.”

Several celebrities have also been victims of fake product ads online, including It's Showtime Amy Perez, Widows' War actress Carla Abellana, and Megastar Sharon Cuneta. Check them out in this gallery:
