Archie Alemania reacts to estranged wife Gee Canlas's 'I should've left earlier' statement

Actor-comedian Archie Alemania finally shares his side regarding his failed marriage to ex-wife Gee Canlas.
In an interview on Ogie Diaz's channel, Archie gave an update on his current life following his legal issues and separation from his family.
"Peaceful. Mas tahimik yung buhay. Pero siyempre may kalungkutan dahil hindi ko kasama yung anak (Caleb) ko," he said.

Looking back on the problems in their marriage, Archie said issues between them had already surfaced during their time together.
"Pareho kaming Christian ni Gee. Lahat ng pinahahawakan ko sa pagiging magkarelasyon kapag pareho kayong Kristiyano, yung ikaw ang hari ng tahanan at siya 'yung reyna. Wife, submit to your husband. Husband, love your wife. E, nangyayari, pareho kaming hari sa isang kaharian, so 'di puwede 'yon. Yun yung laging nangyayari for the past how many years. So saan pa ako lulugar?" the actor explained.
Archie said he tried several times to understand his former wife. According to him, however, he felt that Gee did not change despite the sermons and advice they received from their elders.
As their disagreements continued, Archie admitted that he wanted to leave for the sake of their peace. But said he ultimately decided to stay for the sake of their child and remain silent within their family.
"I mean, wala ka nang makukuhang emosyon. Kung ano man gusto mo, go. Desisyon sa bahay, 'wag mo na akong tanungin. Ikaw na. Sa 'yo na lahat 'yan kasi lahat naman ng major decisions in our life, ikaw 'yung sinunod," he shared about Gee.
Earlier this year, Gee confirmed their separation in an interview with Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.
The actress mentioned, "I should've left earlier, I should've listened to myself [noong] feeling ko nauubos na [ko]… I'm a very colorful person, I'm a goofy person, the years parang nawala."

Reacting to her statement, Archie shared his side and agreed that she should have left earlier.
"Dapat yun na nga ang ginawa niya. Dati pa. For the sake ng katahimikan namin kasi hindi naman nabago kung ano yung ginagawa niya, e," he stated.
"Ako, I always walk out kapag confrontation [o] magulo. Gusto ko lagi tahimik lang ako. Tatahimik lang ako, magsalita ka diyan. Kasi ayoko makapagsalita ng masama. Ayoko magkaroon ng conflict. Kaso pipilitin ka. Pipilitin ka mag-react. Reaksyon mo 'yung panghuhugutan niya."
"You mean pino-provoke ka?" Ogie asked.
"Yes. That's the right word," Archie answered.
"Saan ka lulugar? Wala kang lulugaran. Ikaw lagi may kasalanan. Kahit siya may kasalanan, ako pa rin ang may kasalanan. That's in my point of view, ha. Kasi, yung naranasan ko at nakita ko. Yun lang ang kinasasamaan ng loob ko."
Archie also opened up about the pain of being unable to see his son, Caleb, whom he said was very close to him.
"Kasi alam niya doon lang ako masasaktan sa hindi pagpapakita sa akin ng anak ko," the actor said.
When asked why he did not speak about his side sooner, Archie said he wanted to maintain peace during the difficult period.
"Sanay na tayo sa showbiz...If you say something, negative. If you don't say anything, negative. Might as well, keep it to myself. So at least, wala kayong narinig. Respeto na rin sa nanay ng anak ko kahit siya pa pala may gustong umalis. Sa interview nga niya kay Tito Boy, 'Ah, ganoon ba? E 'di dapat dati mo pa ginawa.
"I'm happy now and mas peaceful in a sense sa relasyon. Mas tahimik. Mas okay ako ngayon. Intindihin ko muna ang sarili ko."
Currently, Archie said he enjoys spending time with his other three children and is okay with their respective mothers.
He also clarified that he had already left his playboy days behind long before his marriage and is currently focusing on his solo life.
