Boy Abunda prays for Kris Aquino's steady recovery

Boy Abunda opened up about his enduring friendship with Kris Aquino, emphasizing that despite not being seen together often, their connection has never been broken.
“Kris and I never lost contact,” he said during an interview with GMANetwork.com and other select entertainment media recently.
The Fast Talk With Boy Abunda host continued, “Hindi mo kami nakikita na madalas. But anything important that happens in her life, she makes sure I am in the loop.”
The seasoned host shared that he recently spent time with Kris on Valentine's Day. He noted that there's a positive development in his friend's health.
“[She] gained some weight. Praying that tuloy-tuloy na, she gets better. A lot stronger,” he said
He then recalled seeing Kris at one of her lowest points physically.
“I saw her at 82 pounds,” he said. Later, he received encouraging news from her directly. “There was a time, she sent me a text message saying that her weight had gone up to 114.”
Still, he acknowledged that her health battle is ongoing. “Pero meron pa rin siyang, yung sobrang pula. Yung mga rashes,” he shared.
He admitted that some medical details are difficult for him to fully grasp. “I hear the word lupus is something that they're managing,” he added, before reiterating, “But I hope she really gets better.”
When asked about a possible collaboration with Kris, Boy said, “I am open. I hope I'm allowed by my contract. But I look forward to doing materials with her.”
But he stressed that, “Palagay ko, priorities should be health.”

Despite Kris' condition, Boy witnessed the strength of her youngest son, Bimby Aquino Yap.
The veteran host recounted, “Nung sa Amerika, bumigay na ako noon. I mean, when I saw Kris, bumigay na ako. Bumigay na ako noong he was in total control. Yung kinakarga ang nanay, nililipat. 'Is it ready? The box about mom?' He was in control. And how old he was he then, 17?
“I'm proud of the boy and I'm proud of the way how Kris raised them. Si Josh naman, ang role niya, at least he began the day, I was told, leading the prayer; ends the day with another prayer.”
Although there is no formal arrangement between him and Kris, Boy said he considers himself her self-appointed guardian. He stressed that this would not change even if Kris chooses someone else to entrust her children to.
Sabi ni Boy, “Kung ako man, tinatanggap ko. Kung hindi man ako, tutulong ako.”
He continued about his long-standing friendship with Kris, “I'm very settled about my relationship with Kris. Hindi na kami mga bagets, noong nag-uumpisa 30 years ago. Siya ang nagsabi, 'Alam mo, Boy, kung bibilangin mo, we've been together for over-- Remember when Kris was married in my house? So, ang daming stages mg aming relasyon.
“Was it always smooth sailing? Of course. I mean, with two mercurial personalities, diba? If somebody takes care, I'm really fine.”
Boy emphasized in the end, regarding caring for Bimby, “I will not be absent in the life of the boy. I adore, I love him.”
