Bretman Rock reveals to Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson his name origin

Social media personality Bretman Rock finally got to tell Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson the story behind his name during a recent interview.
In a TikTok video uploaded by Bretman, the internet star revealed that his father, a longtime wrestling fan, named him after two wrestling icons: Bret "The Hitman" Hart and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
"My dad and his twin brother, they were really obsessed with wrestling. And they were like, we should name him Bretman Rock. And it's from Bret 'The Hitman' Hart and you. So, I was named after you," Bretman said.
The revelation caught Dwayne by surprise.
"No way. What? You're doing so good, man. You're kicking ass. You have a gazillion followers. It's just amazing. And I did not know that," The Rock replied.
Bretman shared that he had been waiting years to tell him the story.
"I waited 27 years to tell you that. I mean, thanks to you, I had to do all the sports in the world. Because my dad really was convinced that he had the next Rock. So, I did football, baseball, and track. None of them stuck. And I just came out like this," he said.
During the interview, Bretman also praised the live-action adaptation of Moana, in which The Rock reprises his role as Maui.
"I was watching it last night and I have to say, it's the best real adaptation. It's so good and it's so accurate," Bretman said.
