RM and V of the global group BTS have officially been discharged from the military.
The two members completed their military services on June 10, 2025, after enlisting in December 2023.
According to an article by Soompi, RM served as a member of the 15th Infantry Division Military Army Band, while V served as a member of the II Corps Special Duty Team.
After being discharged, RM and V happily greeted the public. RM even amused the crowd with a saxophone performance of a song from the popular series Detective Conan.
RM and V also went on a short livestream on Weverse to greet their fans and followers.
RM and V are the third and fourth members of BTS to complete their military service, following Jin and J-hope.
The group's record label, BigHit Music, officially announced on June 7 the military discharge of RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.
“We are excited to bring you the news of RM, Jimin, V and Jung Kook's upcoming military discharge. RM, Jimin, V and Jung Kook are close to completing his active service in the army and will soon be discharged,” a part of the Weverse notice read.
BTS is celebrating the 12th anniversary of their debut this June 13, which is known as “BTS Festa.”

In 2019, BTS made history after winning all four grand prizes or daesangs at MAMA. They also achieved a daesang sweep at MMA in the same year.
BTS was the first Korean act to be nominated and to win the Top Duo/Group Award at the Billboard Music Awards in 2019.
TIME Magazine named BTS as Entertainer of the Year in 2020.
BTS currently has five Grammy nominations. They were also the first Korean group to perform at the awards show in 2020.
As a group, BTS has charted six No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 for the songs “Dynamite,” “Savage Love,” “Life Goes On,” “Butter,” “Permission to Dance,” and “My Universe.”
BTS is the first Asian act to bag the Artist of the Year at the 2021 American Music Awards.
In 2021, South Korean President Moon Jae-in appointed BTS as “Special Presidential Envoy for Future Generations and Culture.”
BTS officially entered the Hall of Fame of the Guinness World Records in 2022.
BTS topped the Global Recording Artist Chart of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) in 2020 and 2021.
BTS were appointed ambassadors for the World Expo Busan 2030 and consequently held a free concert in Busan in October 2022.
