Cannes Film Festival pays tribute to award-winning actress Jaclyn Jose

Aside from the Philippine entertainment industry, the Cannes Film Festival also joined in paying tribute to the late actress Jaclyn Jose.

On Instagram, the international film festival posted a photo of Jacly when she received the Best Actress award in 2016.

The award was for her performance in Brillante Mendoza's film, Ma'Rosa.

On its Instagram post, the film festival remembered the veteran actress.

The post read, “On learning of the death of Filipina actress Jaclyn Jose, the Festival De Cannes remembers her face beaming with emotion when she received the award for Best Actress in 2016 in Brillante Mendoza's Ma'Rosa.”

It added, “As with so many of her roles, she illuminated this beautiful portrait of a woman, embodying it with grace and humanity.”


Jaclyn Jose passed away on March 2, 2024, due to a heart attack.

According to reports, she was found lifeless by someone who checked on her after being unresponsive to her relatives' calls and messages.


Aside from the Guck and Eigenmann families, Jaclyn's fellow celebrities mourned the actress' death and sent heartfelt messages for her on their social media accounts.
