Miss Universe 2018 winner Catriona Gray took to Instagram to share some lessons she learned after getting robbed in the middle of London, United Kingdom last August.

In her Instagram Story, Catriona posted a photo of the broken window of their car and admitted that she was 'traumatized' after the incident.

After collecting her thoughts in the past few weeks, Catriona talked about feeling anxious whenever she steps outside.

“Rewrote a little bit of my London narrative these last few days. Since coming back [after] the robbery incident, I have a newfound tension when I step outside, a new anxiousness with my surroundings and belongings,” Catriona posted.

“But I just wanna share some of the things I learned (hopefully to spare anyone else the same experience )”

“Things are just things and things can be replaced. Family and their safety is the most important thing.”

She also shared some useful tips with her fellow Filipinos and followers on how to better secure their belongings when visiting London.

“Don't place your trust in any paid parking facilities in London City - may they boast CCTV, security etc. Even in the middle of the day for a few hours. We made this mistake and wish we hadn't.

“Always take your passports and important medications with you.”

Queen Cat also expressed her profound gratitude to everyone who extended their help to her and her parents Mita Gray (Normita Magnayon) and Ian Gray.

The beauty queen stated, “I'm so so grateful to everyone who reached out to my parents and I to see if we were okay. And to the people who helped my family and I, who helped with the travel arrangements, to sourcing a doctor for my dad's important medications and to just giving comfort and help. Truly [I] am so so thankful.

“At first I felt that the robbery and the stress that ensued blotted out the joy and happy memories from the special homecoming trip of my dad. But I decided I won't let the thieves steal that too. Stay safe everyone.”

Highly respected cosmetic surgeon and entrepreneur Dra. Vicki Belo reacted to Catriona's post and commended her for having such a 'great attitude' despite their bad experience.

Belo stated, “That is such a great attitude Cat. It's been your dream for so long to bring your dad there. And it was a beautiful love-filled trip until the last day. But, be kind to yourself. You will experience anxiety and stress because you were in a way violated. Lift all your concerns up to the Lord. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”

Catriona previously shared on Instagram that they visited the birthplace of her father Ian Gray in Fraserburgh, Scotland.
