Celebrities react to Super Typhoon Carina

Metro Manila and several parts of the country were hit by torrential rains yesterday, July 24, that submerged many areas.

In a report by GMA News Online, Bagyong Carina which is now categorized as a Super Typhoon (based on the PAGASA weather bulletin as of 5 PM, July 24) enhanced the southwest monsoon that dumped huge amounts of rains and flooded many roads and streets in the National Capital Region.

The destructive power of Bagyong Carina led some to compare it to Bagyong Ondoy (or Tropical Storm Ondoy) which hit Metro Manila in 2009.

But according to PAGASA Assistant Weather Services chief Chris Perez, the twin effects of Carina and the Habagat generated 207 milliliters of rain in six hours, while Bagyong Ondoy brought more rain as record shows that in six hours, it dumped more than 300 millimeters of rain.

In addition, the Metro Manila Council (MCC) has declared a state of calamity in the NCR due to the incessant downpour.

With this weather emergency, many celebrities use their social media presence to spread information and remind their millions of followers online to keep safe amid the inclement weather.

Other showbiz personalities took to their social media accounts to share their experience about the effects of Super Typhoon Carina.
