Celebrities who quit smoking

Several celebrities have opened up about leaving smoking behind as part of their commitment to a healthier lifestyle, proving that breaking the habit is possible with determination.
In 2023, Patrick Garcia recently celebrated four years without cigarettes, while Chito Miranda marked a decade of being smoke-free in 2024. The latter admitted in a social media post that the temptation still comes, but chose not to give in.
Ellen Adarna also shared that she quit vaping and smoking after 17 years to prepare her body for pregnancy, saying she began noticing the effects on her health during physical activities.
Meanwhile, Kylie Padilla revealed she had once been a chain smoker before giving up cigarettes two years earlier, adding that she has also stopped drinking alcohol.
Others have also spoken about how health concerns pushed them to make lasting changes. Jayson Gainza credited Piolo Pascual for inspiring him to quit smoking as he embraced a healthier lifestyle. Rica Peralejo, for her part, reflected on leaving behind smoking and heavy drinking after realizing the toll her former habits had taken on her body, with health issues serving as a wake-up call. Actor Epy Quizon has likewise become more mindful of his health following his father Dolphy's battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). He has also become more conscious of "what to inhale" and of spending more time with his family.
