Chinese actor Jin Ze dies at 33, agency appeals for privacy amid public grief

Chinese actor Jin Ze has passed away at the age of 33, his talent agency confirmed, leaving fans and members of the entertainment industry mourning the sudden loss.
According to a statement released by his management company, Shengshi Guangnian Culture Co., Ltd., Garvey Jin or Jin Ze, whose real name was Zhang Jiawei, died on June 4 at his home in Hangzhou, China. The announcement was made public two days later.
In its statement, the agency expressed its sorrow over the actor's passing and extended condolences to his family and loved ones. The company did not disclose the cause of death.
The agency also called on the public to respect the privacy of those closest to Jin Ze and urged social media users and media outlets to refrain from spreading unverified information or speculation while funeral arrangements are being made.

Just weeks before his passing, Jin Ze had posted on Weibo about completing work on a new project in which he played the lead role.
The actor was also preparing for the release of several upcoming dramas, including the highly anticipated series Waiting for the Flowers to Bloom, Waiting for Your Return, which had reportedly attracted more than a million reservations from viewers ahead of its premiere.
Born in Shandong Province on January 30, 1993, Jin Ze first entered the spotlight as a fashion model after graduating from the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. He later transitioned into acting and built a steady career through television dramas and short-form digital series.
Over the years, he appeared in projects such as Hello Joann, Forget You Remember Love, Begin Again, Legally Romance, Beauty Reborn, and Don't Negotiate with Your Boss. In recent years, he had also become active in China's growing vertical drama industry, with several projects still awaiting release.
