Chinese actor Liang Youcheng dies after suspected flu complications

With many fans across Asia still reeling from the death of Taiwanese singer-actress Barbie Hsu, several news outlets abroad reported that rising Chinese actor Liang Youcheng died due to suspected flu complications on January 30, 2025. He was 27.
Malaysian-based website The Star quoted information from Chinese media that Youcheng first exhibited mild symptoms that eventually worsened.
The article read, “Liang first exhibited mild symptoms and was diagnosed with a common cold. However, his condition rapidly worsened, leading to infections of the central nervous system (CNS).
“Despite emergency treatment, he passed away in the hospital on the second day of Chinese New Year.”
Liang Youcheng was part of Chinese dramas like Echo Of Her Voice (2024) and My Heart (2021).
