Christian and Mark Bautista

Mark and Christian Bautista are finally sharing one major stage together. The two OPM powerhouses are set to headline 'Bautista x Bautista,' their first concert as a duo, happening on March 6 at the New Frontier Theater.

Both artists are proof that finishing second can still lead to lasting success. Mark rose to fame as the runner-up of the singing competition 'Star for a Night,' while Christian placed second in 'Star in a Million.' Though neither took home the top prize, their careers continued to flourish long after the early-2000s singing contest boom.

Their journeys have even crossed paths in surprising ways over the years. Another interesting parallel in their careers is how often their paths overlapped. Mark and Christian featured Anne Curtis as the leading lady in their music videos and later joined the cast of her primetime series 'Kampanerang Kuba.' They first built their visibility as regular performers on noontime programs before eventually moving to GMA Network, where they remain active today in 'All-Out Sundays.'

Beyond television and recording, both singers expanded their craft through musical theater. Christian took on major roles in productions such as 'Rama, Hari' and 'Ghost: The Musical,' while Mark earned international acclaim for his performance in 'Here Lies Love' in London's West End. Mark found a second home on the West End stage, while Christian carved out a strong following in Indonesia, where he became a star in his own right.

Today, the two artists have come full circle from young hopefuls in singing contests to respected performers and mentors in the industry. Both are currently part of the musical variety show 'All-Out Sundays,' continuing to inspire a new generation of singers. And this March, fans will finally see their journeys converge in one unforgettable concert.

During their media conference at the Pandan Asian Cafe in Quezon City on February 19, Mark and Christian shared how their concert came to be.
