Darryl Yap's Pepsi Paloma movie postpones screening in PH cinema

Film director Darryl Yap sadly announces the postponement of his controversial movie, The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma, in local cinemas.
In a statement posted on Facebook, Director Darryl explained that his team were unable to complete the necessary documents required by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
Despite this setback, the director reassured his supporters that the film's release is not off the table. He revealed that his team is considering alternative options, such as releasing the film abroad or through online streaming platforms.
"Kung anu't anuman ay agad itong malalaman ng publiko," he said.
In the comment section, Director Darryl explained further that the months of February and March were already booked for screenings. "Pero makakahanap lang kami ng available screening dates once ok na ang hinihinging karagdagang documents. Salamat," he added.
In addition to his statement, the director also included a message in the caption. "Natanggal man ang tansan, nananatili ang iyong ispirito," he said.
Last week, the MTRCB clarified that the film was "currently not under review due to incomplete requirements."
The board explained that the film's distributor, PinoyFlix Films and Entertainment Production, still needs to submit three specific documents. Including a Certificate or Clearance of No Pending Criminal, Civil, or Administrative Case from the Regional Trial Court, the Department of Justice, and the Office of the City Prosecutor.
On January 24, the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 205 ordered Director Darryl to take down the teaser for the film after TV host Vic Sotto filed a writ of habeas data and 19 cyber libel cases. The actor claimed the teaser allegedly violated the Data Privacy Act by mentioning his name without consent.
Despite these legal challenges, Director Darryl has been allowed to continue with the film's production and eventual release.
