Donnalyn Bartolome has gone viral in the past for her controversial baby-themed photoshoot, "kanto" themed birthday party, and "back to work"comments.
This hasn't stopped her from trying unconventional ways to celebrate special days. For her mother Alex's birthday, Donnalyn surprised her with an "18 again" themed birthday celebration. The surprise party for her mom was a lavish coming-of-age party fit for a princess.
In her vlog, Donnalyn narrates how she came up with the idea to surprise her mom this year. "My original debutante party was my mom's dream for me, kaya kahit mabigat sa bulsa, I made it happen. But so many things went wrong that day, mostly because of a tight budget when I was an employee in a company in Makati.
"This year, I can afford a grand one, and I wanted a do-over, but as imperfect as it is, I already had my own [debutante party], when a lot of people didn't, like my mom.
"I realized she never had her own debutante party because she had me when she was 14 years old. She's been trying to heal her childhood wounds by living vicariously through me.
"Well today, we'll be healing her directly because she will be experiencing the debutante party of her dreams."
