Renowned cosmetic surgeon Dr. Manny Calayan sat down for an interview with GMA journalist Susan Enriquez.
The celebrity doctor was candid and relaxed as he addressed the supposed "rivalry" between him and Dr. Vicki Belo, another renowned beauty expert in the Philippines.
Doc Manny explained that there is "healthy competition" between them, adding that Dr. Vicki is is his idol, as she was already practicing in the beauty industry when he was still in medical school.
He also addressed Dr. Vicki's controversial comments on the now-defunct Kapuso talk show Showbiz Central.
"If you want to look like Boy Abunda, go to Dr. Calayan. But if you want to look like Dingdong Dantes and Piolo Pascual, come to Belo," she said.
"Naku, hindi ako! Si Boy ang nagalit! 'Doc, loko-loko 'yang si Vicki. In-ano tayo sa Showbiz Central ba 'yun?' Ano'ng sabi? Ganyan daw? Talaga? Samantalang sa'kin galing si Dingdong Dantes before. Noong nahulma ko na, kinuha na niya," Doc Manny said with a laugh.
He added that he did not take it to heart and shared that it was actually Dr. Vicki's longtime partner, Dr. Hayden Kho who apologized to him on her behalf.

Dr. Manny Calayan admitted that he and Dr. Pie Calayan have been separated since 2019. However, neither party has filed for annulment.
He also admitted to cheating on Doc Pie but denied having a love child from his three-year affair with a vlogger.
Doc Manny says he "fell out of love" with Doc Pie when she went to the United States to be with their children, who were studying there.
After Doc Pie discovered his affair, they tried to repair their relationship and lasted four more years before calling it quits.
Doc Manny strongly reacted to allegations that he used Doc Pie as a "guinea pig" and botched her face. "Tingin n'yo ba, gagawin ko sa asawa ko 'yun? Hindi! Siyempre ang asawa mo is model mo," he said.
He further explained that Doc Pie was lying low due to an illness. "'Yun 'yung nagkaroon siya ng sakit. Kaya kami nag-abroad din, gawa ng nagkaroon siya ng adrenal fatigue syndrome. Napagod 'yung adrenals natin, so bumigay lahat noong endrocrine system niya. Hanggang sa nag-swollen yung face niya, manas na 'yung dito (arms) niya," he explained.
Despite their estrangement, they remain business partners. They also opted not to change the name of their clinic as it is already and established brand.
One of their daughters now runs their clinics. Both doctors also schedule their working hours to avoid running into each other.
Doc Manny has this to say on the possibility of reconciliation with Doc Pie, "Tingin ko hindi, hindi na. Kasi kilala ko 'yan eh. 'Pag galit 'yan, she forgives [does] but not forget."
"Beauty is part of aging. Age gracefully. Huwag kalimutan 'yung mga regimen mo. Visit a dermatologist lagi. Put on your sunscreen," he said about the ever evolving beauty industry.
