Eddie Gutierrez debunks death hoax: 'Buhay na buhay po ako'

Veteran actor Eddie Gutierrez has taken to social media to debunk rumors about his passing.
On Facebook, his daughter Ruffa Gutierrez shared a video of the actor personally addressing the false reports.
“Alam n'yo, usong-uso ang fake news ngayon, na ako'y sumakabilang buhay na," Eddie said.
"Hindi po totoo 'yon. Buhay na buhay po ako. I'm still alive and kicking. Hindi pa ako namamatay. Binigyan pa ako ng Panginoon ng mga ilang taon."
The former matinee idol also shared that he will be celebrating his 84th birthday on February 6. Filled with gratitude, Eddie thanked God for giving him more years and his loving family for keeping him healthy and happy.
“So huwag po kayong maniniwala. Buhay na buhay po ako. Sa lahat ng mga nagdasal, sa lahat ng mga tagahanga ko na mga senior citizen na hanggang ngayon nandiyan pa, huwag ho kayong mag-worry. Buhay na buhay po ako. At maraming salamat sa mga dasal ninyo,” he added.
Ruffa also expressed her love and support for her father in the caption.
"As he turns 84 this February 6, we celebrate a life filled with love, strength, and grace. Cheers to good health, happiness, and many more beautiful moments ahead. We love you always," she wrote.
Last January, Ruffa shared updates from Singapore regarding Eddie's condition in treatment for a spine infection.
In a previous post, she shared the “good news” that her father's health had shown significant improvement.
“Dad's nerves are no longer as compressed, kumakain na ulit si Daddy. We are hopeful that he will be able to walk again soon,” Ruffa said.
Aside from the health update, Eddie was also seen with his family at an intimate birthday dinner for twins Richard and Raymond Gutierrez.
