Filipino Sofronio Vasquez wins 'The Voice' US

Sofronio Vasquez has just emerged as the grand champion for The Voice US's 26th season.
On Tuesday (US time), Sofronio who was under Michael Bublé's team was declared the winner of the singing competition. He received the majority of votes from America, winning a $100,000 cash prize and a record deal with Universal Music Group.
He impressed the judges and the viewers with his rendition of Sia's "Unstoppable" and “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman.
Sofronio expressed gratitude to his Filipino supporters when he was named a Top 5 finalist.
"Thank you so much to Filipinos everywhere and in America who gave so much love and support," he said in a social media post.

Recently, he also captured the hearts of the audience and the coaches when he performed "If I Can Dream" by Elvis Presley. He also had a duet of The Police's "Every Breath You Take" together with co-finalist Jeremy Beloate.
Sofronio has also appeared as a "Tawag ng Tanghalan" contestant in It's Showtime where he made it to the semifinals.
The winner of The Voice USA was decided based on the votes from the public.
