GAT member Michael turns emotional reflecting on his showbiz journey

GAT member Michael couldn't hold back his emotions as he reflected on his journey in showbiz, sharing the struggles and triumphs that shaped him into the artist he is today.
During the launch of their debut single “Kakaiba” last week, the rookie P-Pop group members were asked to share a short message to their younger selves.
The group playfully chose Michael to answer first, teasing him as he began to get emotional.
“It was all worth it,” Michael briefly answered while trying to hold back his tears.
Then, he explained, “Kasi, noong bata po ako-- Parang ang dami kong pinagdaanan noong nasa US pa po ako kasi I grew up in a community like, I was one of the only Filipinos around. Naalala ko, parang I got rejected so many times, I got into arguments with producers.
Michael mentioned that at nine years old, he already faced some challenges in his showbiz career.
“So, I vowed to myself that I'll never do music again kasi parang nasaktan ako,” he recalled.
But instead of giving up, the 20-year-old persevered and kept chasing his dreams.
Michael said, “The fact na pinush ko talaga ang sarili ko… Sabi ko sa sarili ko na if I really want this, kakayanin ang lahat. 'Tapos, kinaya ko po and now we're here. Pero marami pang kailangan kong pagdaanan, so I'm super excited for this.”
While in the US, Michael worked in popular stations such as Disney and Nickelodeon.
In 2020, Michael, who is a a singer-songwriter, was introduced as a solo artist. One of the songs he released was “Thrill Me,” which he wrote and co-produced with Thyro Alfaro.
