Hajji Alejandro also known as “Kilabot ng mga Kolehiyala” in the '70s and '80s is an OPM singer who has established himself as one of the icons in the Philippine music industry.

His major hits ''Tag-Araw, Tag-Ulan" and “Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika,” which won him the grand prize in the 1978 Metropop music festival.

News about Hajji suffering from colon cancer has been confirmed, after his girlfriend of 27 years Alynna Velasquez gave an interview to Julius Babao. The said interview was uploaded on March 20, 2025.

A month after Alynna's interview was shared online, the sad news of Hajji's death was confirmed by his family.

Girlie Rodis, the singer's manager, posted on Facebook the statement from the family about the death of the music icon.

The Alejandro family also asked everyone for privacy as they face this difficult period.

“We kindly ask for privacy as our family grieves this tremendous loss. We appreciate your understanding and support during this difficult time.”
