Korean singer and dancer Gong Min-ji, also known as Minzy, rose to fame in 2009 as a member of now-defunct K-pop band 2NE1.
Minzy was placed in 2NE1 with other members Park Bom, Sandara Park, and CL. She was known as the band's main dancer. The group went on to debut with their first single "Fire" in May 2009, with Minzy being the youngest member at just 15 years old. Minzy officially left the group and the group's agency, YG Entertainment, on April 5, 2016. 2NE1 also disbanded in the same year. Minzy carried on her solo activities by joining The Music Works entertainment company.
After four years with The Music Works, she left the label in April 2020 after her legal dispute with the agency was settled. She released the single album “Lovely” in May to mark the new start of her career.
On October 22, 2020, it was reported that Minzy had set up a new agency called MZ Entertainment. In November 2020, Viva Artists Agency and Minzy revealed that they have made a partnership in launching Minzy's career in the Philippines. Get to know about this K-pop star here.
