Gil Cuerva breaks silence on leaked video: 'Recorded without my knowledge'

Gil Cuerva has addressed the video linked to him by releasing an online statement.
On his Instagram account, Gil expressed that this statement is the “only time” he will address the issue and he explicitly noted that he will not be commenting further to avoid giving the issue more airtime.
“Hey everyone. I just want to briefly address the issue that had circulated online over the past few days,” Gil wrote in his post.
He continued by writing, “This will be the only time I speak about it, and I will not be commenting any further after this.”
The actor clarified that the footage was captured without his knowledge or consent. He also emphasized that it constitutes a grave violation of his privacy and remains a punishable criminal offense.
“The video being shared online was recorded without my knowledge or consent during a private moment. The use of a hidden camera and the distribution of that recording are serious violations of my privacy and constitute a crime,” wrote Gil.
In the wake of the controversy, Gil expressed gratitude toward the friends and family who offered support as the news broke.
“Thank you to my friends and family who reached out with support during this time, and thank you to those who spoke up to defend my name,” Gil expressed.
He concluded his message by asserting that his statement covers everything necessary. He reassured the public that he is in good spirits and is moving forward with his life.
“That's all that really needs to be said. I'm okay, I'm fine, and life goes on,” Gil said.
Before Gil's official statement, his former girlfriend, Kapuso actress Lexi Gonzales, had already taken to social media to defend him, calling the actions of those spreading the video “repulsive” and “malicious.”
