During his Manila press conference, Jay B said his favorite song from his album Archive 1: [Road Runner] is “Crash.” He also shared that he took time and really focused on producing the album because it was his first project after a long time since his release from military service.
Jay B took pride in how music continues to evolve and improve. He also made sure to show a different side of himself.
When it comes to sharing his music, Jay B said he is open to producing and working with K-pop artists in the future. However, he wishes to focus on his craft more today.
“If opportunities align, of course, I want to produce music for other artists. But lately, I like making my own, especially trying different genres as well,” Jay B explained.
According to Jay B, if there is one song from his discography that would best describe and reflect him, it would be “Cloud 9.”
Jay B talked about his Filipino fans and said he thought of them while preparing for his recent concert “Tape: Re Load.”
“I want you to know that I prepared the concert really hard, and I wanted to show that in every performance, I wanted a little difference on each of it, so I really thought through about that,” said Jay B.
During his press conference, Jay B also looked back on his recent reunion with his group GOT7 and said it was “very fun.”
Jay B also sent out a message for rising K-pop artists when it comes to longevity.
“What's my secret to [longevity]? First, I do my best. But Ahgase, my fans, are always showing me love and support, so I think that's one of the things that drive me to do my best,” Jay B added. “To thriving K-pop artists, I hope that they would do well. I want to tell them, 'Go! Fighting!' and I want to tell them to always stay healthy.”
Aside from his music, Jay B also talked about K-pop fashion and left advice for looking and feeling like a K-pop idol.
“If you really want to look like a K-pop artist, I think you should be confident. And then you should look-- you should all search as well.” said Jay B. “And you should also know what looks best on you and also know the philosophy [behind] the fashion that you want to go for.”
A Filipino Ahgase asked Jay B when he was planning to go scuba diving in Bohol, and the K-pop star answered, “I was thinking when my plans are, so you'll know that I'm coming, right? I want to enjoy [a] more private [time], but I'm planning first quarter of this year.”
But despite wanting a private vacation, Jay B said fans could still greet him, and he will greet them back, “If ever you see me, just say 'Hi,' I will 'Hi' back and then I'll just walk away.”
Congratulations on your recent concert, “Tape: Re Load,” Jay B!
