Widely regarded as one of the greatest wrestling superstars of all time, Hulk Hogan played a pivotal role in transforming WWE into the global powerhouse it is today. During the 1980s and 1990s, his larger-than-life persona--both inside and outside the ring--catapulted him to household-name status, turning him into a mainstream icon with movie roles and worldwide recognition.
Hulk Hogan rose to fame through his iconic runs in WWE and World Championship Wrestling (WCW), becoming a global symbol of professional wrestling. Renowned for his flamboyant style, massive physique, signature blond horseshoe mustache, and trademark bandanas, Hogan was widely considered the most recognizable wrestling star in the world, the most popular wrestler of the 1980s, and one of the greatest in the sport's history.
He began his professional wrestling career in 1977, but it wasn't until he signed with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) in December 1983 that he achieved worldwide fame. His heroic, all-American persona played a central role in sparking the wrestling boom of the 1980s, as he headlined eight of the first nine WrestleMania events.
