Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards has been active in the show business since 2010. With more than a decade of experience, he has come a long way--from doing commercial modeling to starring in the country's highest grossing film of all time.
When he was young, Alden dreamed of being a pilot but his late mother pushed him to pursue acting instead. Although his mother died in 2008, Alden still fulfilled his mother's wish when he started going to go-sees to be a commercial model and joining pageants.
Early on in his career, Alden was praised for his portrayal of a psychopath in film 'The Road.' He was nominated for New Movie Actor of the Year award at the PMPC Star Awards for Movies and for Breakthrough Performance by an Actor at the Golden Screen Awards.
In 2011, Alden won several awards including the German Moreno Youth Achievement Award at the 59th FAMAS Awards, and the Breakthrough Performance by an Actor award at the Golden Screen TV Awards for 'Alakdana.'
Alden considers his biggest break in showbiz was when he starred in his first lead role in the television series 'One True Love,' where he was paired again with his 'Alakdana' co-star, Louise Delos Reyes.
In 2015, Alden became part of the Philippines' longest-running noontime show, 'Eat Bulaga,' where he was serendipitously paired with Maine Mendoza, creating the global phenomenon, "AlDub" love team.
In the same year, Alden released his second album Wish I May, which was certified Diamond by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry.
Aside from his television and singing career, Alden also made it big on the silver screen. His movie with Kathryn Bernardo, 'Hello, Love, Goodbye,' became the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.
Alden's acting prowess was also applauded by international critics as he received the Asia Star Prize at the 14th Seoul International Drama Awards in 2019.
With the success of Hello, Love, Again, the sequel to Hello, Love, Goodbye, Alden was honored as the 2024 Box Office King.
