IN PHOTOS: Celebrities and personalities who suffered from stroke and heart disease

In 2019, a research shows that the risk of death from heart disease and stroke vary among Asians, with Filipinos being one of those facing a great risk.
According to the study made by the Journal of the American Heart Association, Filipinos have the highest years of life lost because of ischemic heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, including clot-caused stroke and hemorrhagic stroke.
Heart disease may refer to several heart conditions which include coronary artery disease (CAD) that can lead to a heart attack. Meanwhile, a stroke occurs when the blood supply going towards your brain is interrupted or reduced, preventing oxygen and nutrients to go to the brain cells.
Like us, a few A-listers are also not prone to these two medical emergencies.
Just because they have the money to hire chefs and personal trainers, it doesn't mean they can't sidestep to suffering from heart disease and stroke. Though these two may be caused by a lot of things -- high cholesterol, diabetes, smoking, genetics -- it's sometimes surprising and worrisome to hear celebrities being rushed to the emergency room because of these conditions.
