GMA's prime artists Dingdong Dantes, Jennylyn Mercado, Rocco Nacino, and Jasmine Curtis-Smith join forces for 'Descendants of the Sun (The Philippine Adaptation).'
The local adaptation of South Korea's 2016 hit series 'Descendants of the Sun' is the biggest offering of the Kapuso Network this 2020 for its 70th anniversary.
Dingdong Dantes stars as Capt. Lucas, also known as Big Boss, in the upcoming series. The character was originally played by Song Joong Ki.
Since he has experience in directing, the Kapuso Primetime King is not limiting himself in playing the role because he also shares his inputs to Dominic Zapata, the director of 'Descendants of the Sun (The Philippine Adaptation).'
Dingdong's transformation for the upcoming series can make any girl swoon.
Jennylyn Mercado fits the role of Dr. Maxine, also known as Beauty, who was originally portrayed by Song Hye Kyo.
According to the Ultimate Star, it's been her dream to be paired with Dingdong in a series.

Jennylyn admitted that she is not a fan of K-dramas. However, she quickly cleared that she studied well the character of Dr. Maxine.

There's no other actor than Rocco Nacino that's perfect for the role of Sgt. Diego or "Wolf." The character was originally portrayed by Jin Goo.
His love for the country continues outside of his character. In fact, he took rigorous trainings and lectures under the Philippine Navy to become a full-fledged navy reservist.
Jasmine Curtis-Smith plays the role of Lt. Moira in 'Descendants of the Sun.' The character was originally portrayed by Kim Ji Won.
Aside from being a K-drama fan, the value of camaraderie and love for the country, shown in 'Descendants of the Sun,' pushed Jasmine Curtis-Smith to accept the project.
