Born on December 10, 1996 in Busan, South Korea, Kang Eui-geon or Kang Daniel began his career when he joined the reality survival show Produce 101 Season 2 in April 2017.
He won first place and became the center of the boy group Wanna One. The group debuted in August 2017 and officially disbanded in February 2019. Kang Daniel debuted as a solo artist in the same year and eventually founded his own agency KONNECT Entertainment. He has also ventured into acting and starred in the drama Rookie Cops.
He released his debut studio album in May 2022 titled The Story with the lead single "Upside Down."

He is also an animal lover. He has a Japanese Spitz named Toshi and four cats.
Kang Daniel visited the Philippines in 2018 for a WANNA ONE fan meeting, in 2019 for his "Color on Me" Asian tour, and in 2022 for his First Parade Asian Concert Tour.
