Rob Gomez captured the public's attention as the lead star in director Erik Matti's latest film 'A Girl and A Guy.' Rob was honored to work wih the award-winning director.
"They say Direk Erik is the greatest director of our country right now, so I feel really blessed. Sobrang biyaya po siya at sana po masundan pa nang marami," he said in an interview.
The movie project was not actually Rob's showbiz debut but more of a comeback. He first appeared in defunct late night variety show 'Walang Tulugan' of "Master Showman" German "Kuya Germs" Moreno.
Rob was batchmates with Kapuso stars Derrick Monasterio, Jake Vargas and Ken Chan on the show but instead of focusing on his showbiz career, he chose to pursue his studies.
He earned a degree in export management from the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.
Rob is also part of the Estrada show clan. He is the grandson of late actor George Estregan and Agnes Moran. He is also the nephew of Gary Estrada. His mother is former actress Kate Gomez.
"I would love to start my own journey. I don't wanna live in the shadow of anyone. I will work every single minute for every opportunity that I will get, every role that I will get," he explains his decision not to use Estrada as his screenname.
