The quest of the Philippines for the elusive gold medal at the prestigious Summer Olympic Games continues this year.

Although the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games was postponed for a year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Philippine delegation is ready to get the country's first-ever gold medal.

Olympic Games veteran and 2018 Rio Olympics silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz is ready to snatch the gold medal in the women's 55 kg weightlifting competition.

On the other hand, 2019 Southeast Asian Games gold medalist in gymnastics, Carlos Yulo, will also compete in his first-ever Olympics. He is also the first Filipino born in the 2000s to compete at the Olympic Games.
