'On Record' host Oscar Oida and his wife MJ Marfori's love story seems like a plot from a rom-com movie: Two journalists meet each other during a coverage, gets acquainted and starts a friendship, then begins dating and eventually falls in love.
Although Oscar was at first skeptical about whether MJ would fall in love with him due to their 13-year age gap, he admits that it was love at first sight.
In a statement given to GMANetwork.com, Oscar said, “Unang kita ko palang sa kanya kumalabog na dibdib ko napatingin sa langit at nasabing 'Thank you Lord, siya na nga ang pinaka-hihintay hintay ko sa buhay kong ito.'”
After six years of being together, the couple finally tied the knot on January 30, 2016 at the San Agustin Church in Intramuros, Manila.
And on November 7, 2019, they welcomed their first child beautiful daughter Baby Aerin.
According to Oscar, being parents has ultimately changed their lives as a couple. And although these changes may be challenging at times, he's still very much grateful and happy.
During the press con of 'On Record,' Oscar said,“Talagang game-changer 'yung having a baby. Pero it's a beautiful game-changer.
“I will always be grateful to MJ. Kasi parang na-witness ko mula 'yung panganganak niya, 'yung paggising niya every two hours para magpa-breastfeed, hanggang sa 'yung mga sacrifices na kailangan niyang gawin, mga bagay na kailangan niya i-give up para matutukan si Aerin.
“I will forever be grateful. Hindi ko matutumbasan ['yon].
“Kaya dito sa bahay si MJ ang boss at ako ang kanyang bodyguard, driver, tagapamalengke and all.
“Kung ano 'yung bagay na magagawa ko para mapagaan 'yung buhay niya, I will do.”
