Thai-Norwegian celebrity Urassaya “Yaya” Sperbund visited the Philippines for the first time to meet her fans and represent the Tourism Authority of Thailand's campaign called 'Open to the New Shades.' It's her first time in the Philippines, but she'd love to come back. Yaya said she'd love to visit Cebu.
Though she grew up in Thailand, Yaya says her home country never fails to amaze her since there are so many beautiful tourist spots and amazing cultural landmarks in Thailand.
Yaya proudly talked about her country's diverse culture and liberalism.
One thing tourists would love in Thailand is its mouth-watering food. Yaya recommends Thai Tom Yum and their famous Pad Thai.
She also suggested Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand for tourists looking for adventure outside the city of Bangkok.
Yaya urged Filipinos to visit its sister nation Thailand as there are many similarities between the two countries as well as new things to discover.
Her reaction to being compared to Filipina beauty queens Catriona Gray, Megan Young, and Pia Wurtzbach? “Thank you very much, that is a huge compliment, like [what] I said they're not just gorgeous women they're also intelligent and they embrace women empowerment very well,” she said.
Yaya together with the Tourism Authority of Thailand Director for Singapore and Philippines Kajorndet Apichartrakul talked about what makes Thailand a top destination for tourists.
She's stunning from head-to-toe.
Mr. Kajorndet Apichartrakul shared how Thailand makes you feel at home. “We want them to feel welcomed, loved, and given the freedom to experience the best of what our country has to offer,” said Mr. Kajorndet Apichartrakul during the presscon.

“Diet? I hate that word!” Yaya said. She shared she loves staying strong and stays in shape through regular exercise.
Yaya said she's very much willing to have a future project in the Philippines.
