The Golden Globe Awards 2021 officially kicked off the awards season in Hollywood this year with a hybrid program.
The Golden Globes usually happens in January, but this year it was staged a month later--February 28 in the United States and March 1 in the Philippines.
And due to the lingering COVID-19 pandemic, the awards show had to make modifications.
Hosts and presenters went live in two separate locations in the U.S., Los Angeles and New York.
Nominees, on the other hand, joined the awards show virtually from several locations in the world.
Some Hollywood actors glammed up as if they are walking the red carpet this year, while some sported their comfy, loungewear or casual wear, which is actually totally relatable.
And like what many of us experienced in our online Zoom meetings or virtual classes, there were inevitable technical boo-boos.
'Judas and the Black Messiah' actor Daniel Kaluuya won Best Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture, and he was on mute during the first half of his acceptance speech.
Some of the other Golden Globes winner include Anya Taylor-Joy of 'The Queen's Gambit,' who won Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie, Mark Ruffalo of 'I Know This Much is True,' who won Best Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie, Rosamund Pike of 'I Care a Lot,' winner of Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, and Sacha Baron Cohen of 'Borat Subsequent Moviefilm' winner of Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy.
Other notable winners were Chloe Zhao of 'Nomadland,' who is the second female in Golden Globes history to win Best Director, actress Jane Fonda who was awarded the Cecil B. deMille Award, and the late 'Black Panther' star Chadwick Boseman, who won Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama for his performance in 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.'
