'Voltes V: Legacy' star Maria Ysabel Ortega Lapid, popularly known as Ysabel Ortega, is one of GMA's rising stars today.
Ysabel will play the iconic role of Jamie Robinson, the only female member of the Voltes V team.
But before the fame and the spotlight of Voltes V, she was once a commercial model who dreamt of becoming a star and following in the footsteps of her parents Michelle Ortega and Lito Lapid in the showbiz industry.
In an interview with Ysabel during her contract signing with GMA Network, she shared that her dad is happy with her decision despite rarely seeing him face to face.
“We got to talk na po a few months ago. We still talk to each other, and that's when I told him na, I'm here na sa GMA,” she said.
“He's happy naman po for me. And sobrang happy ako na nakausap ko siya about it kasi that was the first time I spoke to him about me in showbiz.”
“It's so nice, kasi he said that he's proud of me, and I'm very grateful that he's very supportive.”
Since starting her showbiz career in 2015, Ysabel has come a long way from her teeny-bopper roles to now being the lead cast of an amazing series.
