Did you bawl your eyes out when watching Paolo Contis and Alessandra de Rossi's 'Through Night and Day?' If you did, here are some interesting facts about the hit from Alessandra de Rossi and writer Noreen Capili.
In a series of tweets, actress Alessandra de Rossi said she wanted to write the film. However, due to her hectic schedule she didn't have the time to write one. Instead, she asked the help of friend and writer Noreen Capili to write the film in her stead.
Alessandra was credited as the film's creator and original conceptor.
Upon receiving the concept for the film, screenwriter Noreen Capili had to schedule a “check-up” to her neurosurgeon to get information about Alessandra's character, Jen. The actor said Noreen was perfect to be the writer because she had experienced aneurysm when she was younger.
Initially, Alessandra wanted to direct the film when she turned over the writing gig to Noreen. But once she read the script, she felt that she couldn't give justice to it. That's why she asked the help of director Veronica Velasco to take the director's chair.
In a post made on Facebook, Noreen admitted that the original soundtrack they had in mind was Eric Clapton's “Tears in Heaven” but was given the red signal because it was too personal. The song was written by Clapton as a tribute to his four-year old-son, Conor, who fell from the 53rd-floor window in New York City.
Hence, the producers opted to go for “I Will Be Here” by Steven Chapman
In the scene where Ben proposed to Jen, they used an original composition by actor Joey Marquez, who played the role of Jen's father.
In one of the scenes, Alessandra experienced hypothermia, a medical emergency that occurs when your body loses heat faster than it can produce heat.
Alessandra also revealed that the argument she had with a Pinoy in the movie was something she experienced in real life while scouting for the perfect location for the movie.
Paolo and Alessandra's funny lines and scenes were a collaborative effort. In a Facebook post, writer Noreen Capili shared that whenever the crew would set-up their equipment, the actors would be seen rehearsing and discussing their dialogues.
Lastly, Alessandra originally wrote the story for Empoy that's why Ben and Jen are childhood friends in the plot.
