The "Chika Minute" news anchor inked a new contract on Tuesday, with Vice President for Musical Variety, Specials and Alternative Productions for Entertainment Group Ms. Gigi Santiago-Lara; GMA Integrated News, Regional TV, and Synergy Senior Vice President and Head Oliver Victor B. Amoroso; and Iya's manager, Boy Abunda.
During her contract signing, Iya revealed events held in her honor, such as a contract signing ceremony, makes her uncomfortable.
She explained, "Kaya ako nahihiya because I'm just reaping the intro of the people who do the real work in GMA, which is sina Aubrey, sina Nelson, sina Tito Lhar."
"So, I'm really giving them all of the credit because kung wala sila, wala kong ichichika at wala rin akong alam. I really want to thank GMA for the honor because it really is a blessing to be able to do not just what I love to do but to be able to do it, while being a mother. While being pregnant, I know not everyone can say they're given the same opportunity and I know that it's really just how God has been working in my life."
“GMA, thank you so much. The honor is mine that I'm still a Kapuso,” she said.
Iya Villania is still a certified Kapuso.
The Filipino-Australian star was born and raised in Sydney, Australia before she moved to the Philippines.
She began her Kapuso career when she was cast in the daytime drama 'Walang Hanggan.'
Iya Villania had her first major role when she was cast as Sydney Torres in the teen series 'Click.'
Iya Villania says she is grateful to have an eventful career especially now that she's pregnant.
Her career has spanned from acting to becoming a VJ and a TV host.
