Iza Calzado has a 'wish' for daughter Deia on International Women's Day

International Women's Day is celebrated annually on March 8, and this year, Iza Calzado marked the day with a special letter for her daughter, Deia Amihan.
The versatile actress shared on Instagram two photos of her with Deia, including a throwback snap of Deia wearing a Darna costume.
Iza said her wish for Deia on International Women's Day is that she grows up in a "world where gender equality is the standard and not something we have to fight for."
Iza noted that the current progress rate sees that "full gender parity won't be achieved until 2158."
"I hope we can both be part of the force that accelerates the progress to ensure the future is better for every girl, every woman and every human," Iza mused in her caption.
The actress also reminded Deia how "it all starts from you."
"In order to better empower others, you need to believe in your own strength, your incredible power. I pray for God's divine protection and grace to be with you and every woman, every step of the way," Iza continued.
In the latter part of her post, Iza wished Deia a Happy International Women's Day and told her daughter, "Laban, Anak!"
She also wished a Happy Women's Day to all the "amazing women in the world."
Iza Calzado and her husband, Ben Wintle, welcomed Deia into their lives in January 2023.
