Actor Jake Cuenca broke his silence on the breakup rumor between him and girlfriend Chie Filomeno one week after the actress called for privacy regarding the same issue.
In an ambush interview with entertainment media on October 7, Jake was asked how his heart was doing presently.
“I'm good… ang daming nangyayari, ang daming sinasabi ng mga tao. But siguro, I can officially say that that chapter of my life is over now. To be quite honest with you, I can at least say that I loved that person deeply,” Jake shared about Chie.
Jake admitted that he doesn't have the time yet to process and accept what happened. He noted, however, that if a person loves another, “You want them to have all the happiness in the world, and you want them to be happy.”
The actor also clarified that there was no breakup.
“There wasn't a breakup. There's no breakup. Hindi, wala na lang, e. I love that person deeply. It was incredibly [worth my time], but that chapter is over now,” Jake said.

It was in August 2023 when Chie first confirmed that she and Jake were dating.
However, even before 2023, Jake and Chie were reportedly dating.
In an interview with Philstar Global in 2024, Jake shared that he considers Chie his TOTGA or "the one that got away" after their first relationship ended.
They reunited after their first breakup and started dating in 2023.
Recently, rumors started circulating about Chie's supposed breakup with Jake. The rumor started after the two unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Following the breakup rumor, Chie's name was linked to Matthew Lhuillier.
In response to the rumors linking her to Matthew, Chie appealed for privacy in an Instagram story, "I've been reading and hearing a lot these past few days, and I ask that my past relationship, my present life, and the Lhuillier family be left out of this issue."
Despite the rumors, Jake has stayed silent about their alleged breakup and the connection between Chie and Matthew.
In a recent interview, Jake finally broke his silence and confirmed that his and Chie's relationship has ended.
Jake confirmed that there was no breakup involved, "There wasn't a breakup. There's no breakup. Hindi, wala na lang, e. I love that person deeply. It was incredibly [worth my time], but that chapter is over now."
