James Graham recalls accidental coming out online: 'I was terrified'

Fil-American actor James Graham is embracing a new chapter after coming out on social media.
Days before, James accidentally came out in a TikTok video while lip-syncing to "The Sign" by Ace of Base. As of this writing, the clip has amassed 4.1 million views.
"You don't have to be scared anymore. People will judge you regardless of who you are, so just live your life to the fullest. Do it out of kindness, not fear or hate. Don't let people dictate how you live your life," the celebrity wrote in the caption.
In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, the Sparkle star recalled her reaction after the video went viral.
"I didn't come out on my own terms. I accidentally came out on TikTok," she said.
Before posting the video, the Sparkle star had already shared her true self with some of her friends and family members. However, she was shocked when the TikTok video, which she had intended only for close friends, became viral.
"I was terrified. I was like, people are gonna judge me [and] say all these things. But they didn't like, it was just some of them. Most of them, actually a lot of them, were very supportive and very respectful, accepting. I'm very happy for that because I never thought they would be like that," she shared.
James added, "I'm definitely happier now that it's happened."

Now that she has come out publicly, the Sparkle star is ready to explore more opportunities as an artist while staying true to herself.
"I think it's gonna be like an experiment for me at first. Since I'm new to all of this, I've just finally come to terms with who I actually am," she explained.
"I guess, acting-wise, I'm ready to expand my craft, experience, and skills. I'm not gonna take my gender or who I actually am as an obstacle. But I will take it as an opportunity to be myself in front of people and to not pretend anymore."
In the meantime, James has been based in the United States since February 2025 and is pursuing a nursing degree.
