BLACKPINK's Jennie makes history as the first K-pop soloist recognized at the Billboard Women in Music Awards.
Jennie was recently honored at the 2025 Billboard Women in Music event at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles on Saturday, where she was recognized with the Global Force Award.
She was awarded with the prestigious Global Force Award, making her the first K-pop soloist to earn this recognition.
During her speech, Jennie said, “Words cannot express how thankful I am," she said in her acceptance speech.
"This award is a tribute to every woman who dares to dream, and create, and shape the world with her vision," she said. "Women are a powerful force and when we come together, we can uplift each other with every step."
She added, "It is such an honor and I feel proud to receive the Global Force Award here, among so many beautiful women who inspire others, I gain inspiration from women around the world and I hope to continue being someone who can positively influence many people.”
She also thanked her fellow BLACKPINK members Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo "I want to take a moment to thank my BLACKPINK girls. Without them, this journey would have never happened. If you're watching, I love you," she said.

On Instagram, Jennie wrote, "Thank you @billboard for honoring me with the Global Force Award. I got too nervous on stage and couldn't finish everything I wanted to say. I want to thank all the amazing women I get to work with. You guys are the true inspiration to this world and to me. Thank you for walking this path with me. I love you. And to my fans all around the world. [I] wouldn't be here with you!"
It's such a big honor to come to the Women in Billboard tonight, but to be honored for the Global Force Award, it's so special and I'm so excited. I'm going to try to enjoy the day and surround myself with beautiful, amazing, women.

She also shared how she feels about her fellow BLACKPINK members Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo. "We talk about this all the time too, I think it's amazing how we're all doing our own thing and we have each other's backs no matter what. That's such a special feeling and I miss them."
She continued her speech, promising more music to come, "Thank you guys so much for supporting me and believing in me and I will continue to make music for you."
"I love you so much. This is for you guys," Jennie said, thanking her fans.
She concluded her speech by giving a sweet shoutout to her mother. "To my mom, I love you mom," she said.
In an interview with Billboard, Jennie was asked about fans doing dance challenges from her songs on social media. "I'm so shocked and I'm so thankful for everyone joining on and being creative on their own, it's fun, I'm so thankful."
At the event, Jennie captivated attention in a stunning red dress by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad. The elegant ensemble showcased a daring deep neckline and intricate pearl embellishments.
