Nabiktima ang aktor at volleyball player na si John Vic De Guzman ng scammers at nagamit ang kanyang credit card nang hindi niya nalalaman.
Sa isang post sa Instagram, sinabi ni John Vic na nakatanggap siya ng mensahe kung saan makakatanggap diumano siya ng freebies at discounted items, isang araw matapos niyang i-renew ang kanyang postpaid account.
Aniya, "Received a text message for freebies and discounted items bearing the name GLOBE within the usual thread where I received updates from my postpaid line. This came a day after I renewed my account at a store. So I trusted that the link given is legit."
"Unfortunately, I clicked and availed using my [credit] card. To my surprise - it didn't proceed and then I was charged with 61K. Reported it to the bank and after investigation - they said its a legit purchased because I inputted the OTP which I DID NOT."
Sa huli, nagpaalala si John Vic sa mga tao na maging maingat sa pag-click ng mga link na natatanggap nila.
Pagtatapos niya, "Be EXTRA CAREFUL - we are doomed by these heartless criminals."
