Being a public personality comes with challenges, especially when life's most painful moments strike.

Filipina comedienne and actress Kakai Bautista recently opened up about a heartbreaking experience, reflecting on how difficult it was to balance public expectations with private grief.

In a now-deleted Facebook post, Kakai shared how she learned about the sudden passing of a family member while spending personal time at the mall.

Part of her post read, "GUSTO KONG UMIYAK pero naglalakad na ako nu'n sa mall at may mga nagpapa-picture maya't maya. So HINDI AKO UMIYAK."

Kakai recounted how, despite receiving constant calls and updates from family members, she kept her emotions in check--until fans started approaching her for photos, and the reality of the moment finally hit her.

So IN the height of emotions na ako sobrang pigil na pigil akong umiyak, nasabe ko 'Ate! Wait lang namatayan ako. Namatay ang kuya ko. KUMALMA KA.' Patawa ako palagi," she continued.

Despite her pain, Kakai still accommodated them. But she admitted feeling deeply hurt when they laughed, seemingly unaware of the weight she was carrying.

In her message, Kakai reminded fans that artists are human too with real emotions, grief, and struggles.

She concluded her post by asking for compassion and understanding from the public, especially in moments when she may not be able to smile, greet, or pose for pictures. She also asked for prayers for her late cousin.
