Kris Aquino reflects on recent surgery: 'My sons are the reason I continue to endure'

After giving an update on her health a few days ago, Queen of All Media Kris Aquino shared an emotional reflection following her recent surgical procedures.
On Instagram, Kris wrote a lengthy message along with a short clip about her surgery, which she said was meant to be posted yesterday, as she had asked her team of doctors to complete her surgical procedures before August 21.
The former actress and TV host revealed that her doctors began the surgery on August 20 at exactly 8:15 p.m. She shared that she was later transferred to another cardiac OR for her port-a-cath procedure and was back in her room by midnight.
"While writing this, happy tears are flowing, because I'm remembering how much our mom endured for us. She also had a port-a-cath surgically inplanted, yet we never heard her complain, and she didn't have a pain management doctor," she said.
After being sentimental about her mother's experience, Kris applauded Dr. Lucban, her vascular surgeon, and her entire medical team, saying they did a "great job" with her treatment.
Sharing a slideshow of her sons' pictures during her post-op recovery, Kris revealed how much Josh and Bimby have been her source of strength.
"My sons are the reason I continue to endure- if I wasn't their mama, matagal na po akong sumuko," she said.
Kris then revealed that "it is very difficult to be as brave as her mother and father," as this marks the beginning of what she described as "a more aggressive treatment" to keep her alive and achieve remission.
Revealing the next steps in her health journey, she shared that over the next six months in isolation, her doctors will work on developing the best treatment plan for her complex allergies to medicine, food, and the environment.
As part of her recovery, Kris said she will also undergo rehabilitation and physical therapy, and resume her love for cooking, with the help of an assistant to avoid triggering flares from her lupus, Polymyositis, rheumatoid arthritis, and progressive systemic sclerosis, and engage in tutorial-based activities to keep her mind active.
"One is never too old to continue stimulating the brain," she added.
At the end of her post, she shared the hashtag #Labankris to remind herself "how much I owe all of you who continue praying for me."
She continued, "Thank you for your patience, support, and much appreciated LOVE."
