Kuya Kim Atienza and Its Showtime hosts

Like many personalities, Kim Atienza also experienced being misunderstood over an online comment.

During a conversation with entertainment and talent manager Ogie Diaz, Kuya Kim addressed past issues involving his former co-hosts on the noontime program It's Showtime.

Previously, on X (formerly known as Twitter), Kuya Kim congratulated director John Prats on becoming the new director of a program. However, his added remark, "Galing ni Lord no? Iniwas siya sa sakit ng ulo," was misinterpreted by some. Kuya Kim clarified that his comment wasn't a criticism but rather a reflection on the challenges of live production.

"Ang problema sa Twitter, you're only able to say whatever you want to say in a few words. Nawawala ang context. Kasi, ang context naman sa sinabi ko na iyon, sanay kasi si John na action at taped na serye. Ang ibig kong sabihin na, "Baka sumakit ang ulo mo" kasi live show 'yan. Dahil yung panahon ni Bobet [Vidanes, former director of the program], masakit 'yung ulo niya palagi. Dahil mahirap ang live show. Ibang skill set. That's what I meant. Not to put down my colleagues," he explained.

Kuya Kim added, "I meant nothing. I meant no harm. Natiyempo kasi kalilipat ko lamang sa GMA-7 noon, so very sensitive pa 'yung mga Kapamilya natin na bakit umalis ako? So, it was interpreted as parang tinitira ko 'yung dati kong show which is hindi naman. Because I really meant nothing, walang malisya 'yung pagkasabi ko. But since nand'yan na 'yan at apoy na. Wala na, nand'yan na 'yan."

The TiktoClock host admitted he didn't foresee the negative consequences of people interpreting his words differently.

When asked about his current relationship with the hosts of It's Showtime, Kuya Kim assured that everything's fine, especially with the Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda.

Kuya Kim recalled another issue that almost caused an argument with Vice, "Nagkaroon kami ng misunderstanding ni Vice noon over Karylle. Ako naman dahil kaibigan ko si Karylle, inaanak ko. Sinabi ko, 'I love Karylle.' E, may pinagdadaanan na pala ang show nu'n at it was taken out of context. Dahil nasaktan ko ang feelings ni Vice, kinausap ko kaagad, minessage ko kaagad. Nag-usap kami ng mahaba. 'Tapos na 'yun."

For Kuya Kim, his time on the noontime program was an unforgettable part of his career, spanning nearly seven years. He emphasized that he never intended to cause trouble for anyone.

"Hindi ako fighter. Lover ako. I'd rather talk and compromise rather than makipagbanggaan," he said.

Kuya Kim revealed his approach to dealing with haters and past issues was flooding his social media with positive content.

He also shared, "I just let it pass. Whether tama ka or hindi ka tama. Pag nagsalita ka talo ka pa rin, eh. Sabi nga nila, 'Much is expected from those who have much.' Tayo'y nasa TV, tayo'y celeb, it's part of the course for us, eh. Kinakailangan palipasin mo na lang."
