Content creator Kyedae Shymko and former professional VALORANT player Tyson “TenZ” Ngo have officially confirmed that they have ended their relationship, putting an end to weeks of speculation among fans and followers online.
The news was shared through a post on Kyedae's X account, where she revealed that the breakup had actually happened some time ago. According to her statement, the two reached a mutual realization toward the end of their relationship that they were no longer growing as individuals, especially after spending much of their lives, including work and hobbies, closely intertwined.
Kyedae explained that their relationship began when they were just seventeen years old, and they moved in together shortly after meeting. Over time, however, both recognized the need for personal space and individual growth. She emphasized that there was “no wrongdoing, no resentment, and no single event” that caused their separation, describing the split as a natural evolution rather than the result of conflict.
Speculation about their relationship status had been circulating online after fans noticed that the pair removed photos of each other from their social media accounts. Observers also pointed out that the former couple, who were previously engaged, had appeared separately in recent posts without their engagement rings.
Despite ending their six-year relationship, Kyedae expressed gratitude for the years they spent together, highlighting the mutual respect that remains between them as they move forward independently.
Japanese-Canadian Kyedae and Vietnamese-Canadian TenZ are well-known in the Twitch streaming community. They had been in a relationship since 2019 before revealing they have broken up for a while, as of early 2026. Kyedae's letter on social media read, "Hey everybody, Tyson and I feel ready to share some personal news. We've actually been broken up for quite some time now. Toward the end of our relationship, we came to a realization that wasn't easy to accept: we had stopped growing as individuals. For most of our relationship, we did everything together. Work — together. Hobbies and interests — together. Pretty much everything — together."
She continued, We've even joked in the past that although we were together for six years, it felt like at least thirty. We moved in together just weeks after meeting, and from ages 17 to 24, that was all we knew. Over time, it became clear that we needed space to grow into our own people. We know the internet often looks for "the tea" but the truth is sirnple — we grew apart. There was no wrongdoing, no resentment, and no single event that caused this."
"We still care deeply about each other and genuinely want the best for one another, we're also incredibly grateful for the time and life we shared together! Thank you for respecting our privacy," Kyedae added.
She also clarified that she didn't use artificial intelligence (AI) to compose her announcement and included a photo of TenZ writing on a notebook, implying they both wrote the letter.
"This was us cooking it up at the park today LMAOO AND I can already predict the comments because of the use of m dashes in the tweet — don't pmo we didn't use AI," Kyedae said.
On her Instagram Story, Kyedae thanked everyone for the support and kind messages. She also addressed questions she has been receiving saying, "I do still have ongoing health issues. I am getting surgery done at the end of this month but I am okay! And I will be slowly coming back to streaming at some point. But my health is currently my top priority! Sending love to you all. Kyedae announced in March 2023 that she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a type of cancer. She began treatment shortly after the announcement, sharing her journey on social media.
Kyedae and TenZ began dating around 2019, confirming a nearly seven-year relationship before announcing their separation in February 2026. They became engaged in August 2022, and were known for their close collaboration in the Valorant community.
