Limp Bizkit bassist Sam Rivers passes away at 48

Sam Rivers, bassist and founding member of the American metal band Limp Bizkit, has passed away at the age of 48.
The band announced the heartbreaking news on Instagram, paying tribute to their late bandmate.
"Today we lost our brother. Our bandmate. Our heartbeat," they wrote.
"Sam Rivers wasn't just our bass player -- he was pure magic. The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound."
Limp Bizkit also looked back on their musical journey with Sam, describing him as irreplaceable.
"He was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of human. A true legend of legends. And his spirit will live forever in every groove, every stage, every memory," the band added.
"We love you, Sam. We'll carry you with us, always. Rest easy, brother. Your music never ends."
In a separate post, DJ Lethal asked the public to respect the privacy of Sam's family. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Sam Rivers co-founded Limp Bizkit in 1994 alongside Fred Durst, John Otto, DJ Lethal, and Wes Borland. The band rose to fame for their fusion of heavy metal and hip-hop, a sound that defined the late '90s music scene.
Some of their most iconic hits include “Break Stuff,” “Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle),” “Take a Look Around,” “My Way,” and “Behind Blue Eyes.”
